Kepaniwai Park was originally established in 1952 as a way of honoring the diverse heritage of Maui. Today, visitors to the park can stroll through a number of cultural homes, including a thatched-roof Hawaiian hut, a Portugese villa, a New England saltbox and the well-renowned pagodas of the Japanese garden. The park is located next to the Nature Center, in the Lao Valley.
